Sarah's Story

Sarah Reilly, Holistic Nutrition Consultant, received her training from Bauman College in Berkeley, Ca. She specializes in Metabolic Healing Issues including Weight Management, Blood Sugar Balance, Pain/Inflammation, Digestive Wellness and Detoxification.

Having recovered from years of chronic Lyme Disease and Environmental Illness, she has developed a keen appreciation of the healing power of food and an appreciation of the inter-relationship between the environment and human health.

At the young age of 26, Sarah went from being an energetic, ambitious career oriented woman filled with endless positive energy, to being weak and chronically exhausted with excruciating hand and arm pain that eventually spread to her entire body.  Finally, 8 years after the onset of her symptoms, and 42 doctors later, she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and Mercury Poisoning.  Little did she know, she was just at the beginning of a long and difficult journey riddled with excruciating chronic pain, frequent disability due to loss of strength and use of her hands & arms, debilitating fatigue, numerous misdiagnoses, 2 near death experiences, severe chemical sensitivity and electro-hypersensitivity.

Through her journey of research and her quest for medical professionals that could help her, she became immersed in the study of human nutrition and healing the body naturally.  Ironically, all this time, she always inquired to health professionals, "what can I eat to help me, there has to be something?".  The typical response was, "food isn't going to cure you, just keep it healthy".  So, she began studying about the healing power of foods and herbs and started eating and cooking for herself in ways that supported daily strength for herself.  When she strayed from this, her system would weaken again.  She knew deep inside, that her body knew how to interpret the healing message of food and this had to be her foundation.

During this time, she was unable to take pain medication and learned to manage her pain with the power of the mind-body using NeuroBehavioral Programs (NBP).  This process taught her the profound power of the mind-body and was a significant piece of her healing.  She eventually became a Certified Practitioner in NBP and helped others with their pain by teaching them this guided natural process of pain management.  This experience has given Sarah an in-depth understanding and respect for the mind/body connection, its role in many chronic conditions and its impact on the quality of daily life.

Now, vibrant again at 39, she feels immensely blessed and grateful for her regained health.  Now, everyday is a gift that she knows needs to be balanced in all elements of mind, body and spirit.  This has become her foundation to maintain vitality and walk the straight and narrow of wellness.  A nutrient dense/balanced diet, managing stress, adequate sleep, meditation/NBP and appropriate exercise are her daily staples of wellness.  When  she gets off this regime of balance, so does her body and well being...and she is quickly reminded  to get back on track.

Through this journey, Sarah went back to school to study Holistic Nutrition.  She is now a Certified Holistic Nutritionist that consults virtually with distant clients globally as well as in person through her practice in Fairfax, Ca.  She feels truly blessed that her own experience has led her to help others on their path to wellness.  "It's truly an honor to help others overcome their obstacles of health and reclaim their birthright of vitality.  It's manna from heaven for me."
